Launched! Concord Group Insurance!Posted by: Jen Kramer on Nov 21, 2008 |

In conjunction with Church & Main, we've launched the new Concord Group Insurance site.
CGI is a longtime client of Church & Main. Their previous site was static HTML. While it looked great, it wasn't possible for CGI to make their own edits.
Church & Main provided us with all graphic design direction as well as strategy for the site. We built the site based on their requirements.
Most people all want to know about "the little guy down in the corner". That is our marketing contact from CGI, John Natale. He made these movies with the help of www.humanizetheweb.com. We at 4Web had not heard of this service before, but installing the movie was easy -- we just added a little JavaScript code in the page, and it automatically shows up in the lower right corner.
There are three really cool features Bill put in this one. The first is the agent locator. This is based, once again, on our Contacts4Web component. It's essentially the same functionality as the zip code locator we included on WineMaker and Brew Your Own. Type in a zip code and find your local independent insurance salesperson.
Another piece is an insurance comparison chart. While it would be really cool to be like Progressive and get a feed from all of the big insurance companies and do comparisons in real time, that just wasn't going to work. Instead, they can enter all types of coverages to compare on the back end, within this component. They can state what CGI's coverage is for a given feature, and compare that with 4 other insurance companies.
Finally, coolest of all in my mind, is the glossary functionality. How many times have you been bamboozled by insurance terminology? (I know I sure have.) On the back end, CGI can enter a term and a definition for it. If that term shows up on the site, you'll see the word in black with a yellow underline. Click the term, and a shadowbox appears with the term and definition. The personal insurance page is a good example. And what did we name it? Why, Glossary4Web of course. :-) If you want to see all of the terms in the glossary, there is a glossary page as well.
